As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opponent moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon plans to round out your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you've successfully built the prime to block the activity of the competitor, the opponent doesn't even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your checkers and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar - to hinder your competitor's positions hoping to better your odds of winning, however the Back Game tactic utilizes seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is commonly utilized when you're far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
