The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game technique is to bring all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as fast as you can. This strategy concentrates on the speed of moving your checkers with absolutely no time spent to hit or block your competitor's checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this strategy is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces a lot faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent's checkers; or 3) your opponent doesn't employ the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main aim of the blocking technique, by the name, is to stop the opponent's pieces, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your checkers quickly. Once you've created the blockage for your competitor's movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other pieces rapidly off the board. The player really should also have a clear strategy when to withdraw and move the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
