As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to round out your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to move his chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's pieces will either get bumped, or end up in a damaged position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. As soon as you've successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of the competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your checkers and toss the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar - to harm your competitor's positions in hope to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game plan is frequently employed when you're far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
