As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move his checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a damaged position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point two and point 11 in your game board. Once you have successfully constructed the prime to block the activity of the competitor, your opponent doesn't even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are similar - to hurt your opponent's positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, however the Back Game strategy uses alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is commonly employed when you're far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice roll.
