As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of skill and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces safely around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move his pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opposing player by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's chips will either get hit, or result a bad position if she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to prevent the activity of your competitor, your opponent doesn't even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar - to hinder your opponent's positions hoping to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game technique utilizes alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is commonly used when you're far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
