As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and pure luck. The aim is to move your pieces safely around the board to your home board and at the same time your opponent shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at specific instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's chips will either get bumped, or end up in a damaged position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. After you've successfully built the prime to block the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are similar - to harm your opponent's positions in hope to better your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is often employed when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
