As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces safely around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific instances. Here are the two final Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move their checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's chips will either get hit, or result a battered position if he/she ever attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of your opponent, your competitor does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You'll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar - to harm your opponent's positions in hope to improve your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic uses alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is generally utilized when you're far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
