The goal of the Running Game plan is to bring all your pieces into your home board and bear them off as quick as you could. This strategy concentrates on the pace of shifting your pieces with absolutely no time spent to hit or stop your competitor's chips. The ideal time to use this technique is when you think you can move your own pieces a lot faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your competitor's pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The primary aim of the blocking strategy, by its name, is to block the competitor's checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your chips rapidly. As soon as you have created the blockade for your competitor's movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other pieces quickly from the board. You really should also have a clear strategy when to withdraw and move the pieces that you used for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the competitor utilizes the same blocking tactic.
