The aim of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the game board and bear them off the game board faster than your opposing player who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round in Backgammon requires both strategy and fortune. How far you will be able to shift your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and just how you shift your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling strategies. Players use a number of tactics in the different stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Tactic

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as fast as you could. This strategy concentrates on the speed of advancing your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your competitor's chips. The ideal time to employ this tactic is when you think you can move your own pieces a lot faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your competitor's chips; or 3) the opponent doesn't use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary aim of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block the opponent's chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your chips quickly. After you have created the barrier for the opponent's movement with a few pieces, you can move your other chips quickly from the board. You should also have an apparent strategy when to extract and shift the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes interesting when the opposition uses the same blocking strategy.
