As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The goal is to move your checkers carefully around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at specific times. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's pieces will either get hit, or result a damaged position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, your opponent doesn't even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and roll the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are similar - to hinder your opponent's positions with hope to better your chances of winning, however the Back Game plan relies on alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is generally used when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
