As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move her checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any activity of the opposing player by assembling a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's checkers will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he ever attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. After you've successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, your competitor does not even get to roll the dice, and you shift your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar - to hinder your competitor's positions in hope to improve your odds of winning, however the Back Game tactic relies on alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game strategy is generally used when you're far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
