The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at particular instances. Here are the two final Backgammon strategies to round out your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any activity of the opponent by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's checkers will either get hit, or result a battered position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. The Back Game Plan

The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar - to hurt your opponent's positions in hope to better your chances of winning, however the Back Game technique uses different techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is generally used when you're far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game.
