As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and pure luck. The aim is to shift your pieces carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely block any movement of the opponent by creating a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get bumped, or result a bad position if she at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully built the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, the opponent doesn't even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you move your pieces and roll the dice yet again. You'll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game technique are similar - to hinder your competitor's positions in hope to better your chances of winning, but the Back Game plan utilizes different tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is frequently utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
